Brian Fernandes

Registered Social Worker

Brian Fernandes  is a Registered Social Worker with clinical experience supporting adults through a wide spectrum of mental health concerns. His work focuses on depression, trauma, anxiety, and self-esteem, while also addressing deeper patterns such as addiction, emotional regulation challenges, and relationship difficulties. Brian’s approach is grounded in the belief that effective therapy starts with a safe, trusting relationship one where clients feel empowered to reflect, grow, and reconnect with their values.


Brian has worked with diverse populations, including veterans, refugees, first responders, at-risk youth, and individuals facing housing instability. His background includes specialized training in trauma-focused care, psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy (MDMA therapy via MAPS), and addiction studies. He integrates evidence-based methods such as cognitive behavioural strategies, psychodynamic insights, and mindfulness techniques into his practice.


His areas of focus include PTSD and complex trauma, anxiety disorders (including generalized, social, panic, and OCD), anger management, substance use, suicidal ideation, dual diagnosis, life transitions, men’s issues, racial identity, and workplace or school-related stress.
